If you are going down the sealant route, use SIKA FLEX, that will stick anything.

You seem to be contradicting yourself somewhat there don't you!

Be cautious with your cans, a few years ago a chippie was killed by a can of foam, he left 3 cans on a window ledge, picked one up to put in the gun, went to give it a good shake, as you do, prior to putting in gun, as we all have done, shook the can towards himself, the bottom blew out and hit him in the heart.
Never found out the reason, but was suggested the cans were out in the heat, I always shake them well away now, something you dont forget.
By the way, I dont stick copings with them, use sand/cement
The first frost will destroy that foam.

Strangely enough, when that can went up and all were re-called, got the notification from H/O, looked at out supply, and all was the said can of killer expanding. in a hot office, boy did we sh*t it until said lethal cans were removed!

Anyway OP, mortar it is?

Uncle buck...read the answer! ''If your going down the sealant route'' If the Op is unable to mix mortar correctly, then Cotswold is giving him a short term alternative.

Thanks for that, I mixed most of the mortar that keeps the blocks of my house together and the house still seems to be standing.

The OP has certainly had lots of advice here

I know some of you are very passionate about how you stick down your coping stones, you must lay awake at night wondering whether to foam, glue or mortar them

Can we accept that there are several ways to skin a cat before it gets grumpy?

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work

He's still contradicting what he said earlier no mater how you dress it up!

Stop with the BS number, it's annoying and doesn't really mean a lot to most people, besides, just because the BS standards say it ok doesn't mean it is.

Well I'm more than happy to bet any one of you that sticking a smooth backed coping stone on with foam makes a lot stronger bond than it does with mortar, try it yourself and see.

Sorry for offering you a "Bodge" Shotgun Rider, go with what everyone says and use mortar, even though it didn't work the first time it should now because everyone recommends it.

You lot go with your mortar, I'll skin my Cat a different way.
