Quadrant shower 800 or 900?

Post by Bludall »

Our bathroom work is still pending. We want to fit a quadrant shower and could easily fit an 800 but could just about fit a larger 900. My question is whether there is a noticable difference when moving around showering between an 800 and a 900? I've been in both in B & Q but need a reply from someone who has actually showered in both sizes.

A quadrant tray would accommodate the sink better. If we had a corner tray it'd not give us enough walk through area.

900mm is a nice size, take a look in Bathstore, I actually bought one for a customer the other day. A rebranded Simpsons Tray and Enclosure for £570 and it's very good quality, unlike the sheds (B&Q)

Bathstyle,

Thanks for that. having had a bath for ages, I can't imagine how enclosed it'll be in full showering mode, so don't want to put in an 800 and wish we'd put in a 900.

Your best bet is to cut out a piece of cardboard and place it in the corner of a room, allow approx 250mm of straight edge on each end before curving the front

Then post some pictures of yourself pretending to have a shower stood on the cardboard, its not easy gauging these things.

900 does make a difference.

Fitted a 900 with champagne centre opening (sliding) bevelled doors.

You'll also benefit from having the shower head in the corner rather than off a face wall, it's a little more difficult to fit but not a lot, the cavity you form with a panel cutting across the corner makes the pipes an easy run to the mixer.

Glorious shower, had a mirror tiled into the wall and a twin impeller pump in the loft producing 32psi, shifted 40 gallons in around 15minutes! I'd put a bigger tank in next time.

last shower I fitted in my bathroom was 900 quadrant and found it a good size and big enough. If you have room for a 900 instead of a 800, I would go for it.

Not many people would come out of a shower and say "nice shower, but I wish it was a bit smaller" :-P
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The nearest thing that you'll get to me in my scanties is my new photo on the left, aged about 3 on a Devon beach with my dress tucked into my knickers!!

Jason 123,

Many thanks for the link, I'll try it tonight. I'll be glad when the flipping bathroom has been finished. I'm getting fed up with not having either a bath or shower and using a builders' bucket to wash in is certainly a novel use for one! It's the nearest thing to the old tin bath that we could get.
