Insulating a stud wall during the building stage is easy to do and can make a huge difference to the heat retaining properties of the room, it can also offer some degree of noise reduction. There are several different types of products on the market which are designed for this purpose, popular names include celotox and kingspan.

Here you can see that insulation slabs have been inserted in between the stud work.

Now a vapour barrier has been added, notice how all joints have been taped together to create a seal.

The ceiling has been lined with plasterboard.

The walls and ceiling have been plasterboarded ready for the final plaster skim.
