Fitted a new door to Pen's flat (still haven't been paid yet ).
Removed old.
Treated new door, fitted hinges, cut out letter box, fitted lock and handle.
Treated with a further 2 coats. Looked good and it shut, result.
The door bubbled, de-laminated, was inspected and found to be faulty
New door being ordered and I have to bill the door company for the refit/hanging/treating.
What is the going rate here guys?
Thanks.
Fitting external hardwood door AGAIN!

No. The first install would be paid for by the client, but Pen (She who makes lumpy custard) laughed when I said I'd make her out an invoice.big-all wrote:you have to bill the door company for the work so far !!!!
has the door company directly invited you to apply for compensation for work and materials wasted !!!!
The door company pays for the removal of the faulty door and refit plus materials used, as the job is being done twice because of the faulty door.
I've really no idea how much this job is worth done by a joiner, I don't want to under or over charge.

Thanks. That's a great guide, I wasn't near that. But that's what comes from being "A new Boy"! ;)Tryanything wrote:Remove door and new door furniture
