A couple of questions from a tiling virgin.......

Post by dukes4monny »

I'm going to be fitting one of these babies shortly: http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/671-16719 and would appreciate some pointers about the tiling.
I have been checking some of the posts on the forum and I will be using the BAL WP1 on the already plastered walls before tiling, do I need to use a tiling primer on top of this to, or do I apply tiles direct to the treated surface?
I am planning on sitting the shower base direct on the floorboards, so should I tile the walls before I fit the base, or, fit the base and tile around it?
I am leaning towards the second method because it should theoretically give a better seal.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

What an excellent forum, thanks U.H. I know how long it takes to put together these step by step guides as I have done it for another forum that I am involved in.

That does indeed answer my questions, but.......it also creates another one..well two actually
I have one wall which is a plastered cavity wall and the other which is a corrugated plasterboard wall.
To remove the plasterboard would destroy the wall, should I fit a layer of the Aquapanel over the top of the existing plastered plasterboard? Should I do the same with the other plastered cavity wall too? or non of the above.......
