Quick Wheel Question.

Hi Folks

Just a quick question, hoping someone can help as I need the barrow for today :cussing: .

I had this builders barrow from TP last year. Just got it out now to use (maybe this'll teach me to check it the day before) and it's deflated and hanging off the wheel itself. Theres no inner tube but there is a valve leading me to think it's tubeless (elementary my dear Watson).

Do I need to go to a tyre place to get it put back on and inflated??? I've had a quick go now, but to no avail it's, very tight.

Anyone that can tell me will be very much appreciated.

If required the info on the tyre is Hammerlin 2 ply safety wheel :thumbright:

i would assume you have to make shure that the "matching rims" i am assuming that are fitted on the tyre and the wheel are properly engaged

you may have to add a liguid to aid the the sealing prosses :scratch: :scratch:

then inflate rapidly with enough pressure to seat the tire then inflate to correct working pressure

The problem with a tubeless tyre is to get enough air in at the start to
create the initial seal
Did see on tomorows world once when they were out in the North pole
or somewhere like that with a tyre off the rim, they sprayed some lighter
fuel (gas) into the tyre and threw a match at it, igniting the gas and
forcing the tyre back on the rim
BUT I'M NOT TELLING YOU TO TRY IT (but let me know how it goes :lol: )

If the tyre won't seal to the rim when you pump the air in from an airline try putting a thin ratchet strap around the center of the tyre & tightening it....this will force the tyre outwards & then the air should take over & push the tyre up to the rim.

A high output compressor works nicely.
A foot pump just wont cut it.

If you dont get any joy, a bit of soapy water or even silicone spray will assist it back onto the rim.

Sometimes you need to inflate the tyre right upto max pressure to get it seated properly, then take it back down to the working pressure.
The maximum pressure should only be used if the tyre is in A1 condition :wink:

I'll be on it first thing tomorrow...now where's the lighter fluid :wink:
