Whats the silver bracket for ? can't find anything about it in the instructions

i have wonderd that point for ages
hang a tape on !!! no you just put it down on the top

my only thought are maybe if its at the back you can loop suffficiant loose cable then wrap around it to stop the cable pulling on the arm

in other words you tether the power cable to that point with sufficiant slack to allow a full range of movement off the saw without the cable dragging the arm off line

Yeah that makes sense

Looks like i've mounted my saw round the wrong way!! :lol:

:oops: It's a locator for the mounted fittings to lock into.

Stops the saw being slid along the stand.

how much did you pay for the stand if you dont mind me asking? quite fancy buying one for myself once graft picks up

As has been mentioned it is for you to place the saw base into to prevent it sliding left or right.

Is that the £200 DeWalt saw stand? I don't mind paying for all my gear being DeWalt and in fact I insist upon it but I draw the line at £200 for a stand when B&Q did an excellent, fold away stand ( same dimensions as the DeWalt ) with quick release, two-part table for £30 last summer.

theres one on m&p tool specialists. there called ancatown1 on ebay iirc.

if you search on ebay for dw7023 there should be some under 100 quid like

Mine was from Ancatown on E-bay I paid about £120 for mine but that was a while ago, good company to do business with. :-)
