My Grouting is shouting

Post by rinkydinkydoodaa »

I have finished grouting my bathroom floor and in some places I have made a rubbish job( of the grouting) It's dried before I was able to smooth the lines leaving it uneven slightly and I was wondering if there is anything I can use to rub it down a bit or can I skim over what I have already done. I used Dunlop grout with flex additive Hope that makes sense.
Thanks

how long since you grouted

have you tried rubbing it with a wet scotchbrite pad

test in and inconspicous area to check it doesnt stain the grout first

grout often doesnt fully harden for about 7 days

The flexible grouts need to be sponged off after about 10-15 mins.......or as you are now finding out, its a cnut of a job

You may have to rake out the rough areas and re-do.........or possibly fine sandpaper rolled up and rub the joints if a small area

Thanks for the replies. Unfortuantly I grouted well over a week ago. The areas that I would want re doing would I have to take all the grout out or could I blend in on top.
Cheers
