Damp on Block Shed.
I have a small block work shed in my garden. I think it was formerly a coal shed. It's really handy for me as I don't have a garage for tool storage and it's a lot more secure than my timber shed.
What I want to know is this. Is there a product avalable that I can paint on the outside that will
1) make it more waterproof as it gets damp in the winter
2) Look a little tidier - the damp seems to make it look 'murky' for want of a better word
I was thinking about painting the inside with the waterproof rubberised style paints that I've seen poeple paint the insides of their garage with. If this is a solution or part of a solution, what are these paints.

Hi Mackster,
The trouble is if it has no dpc built in damp will almost certainlt be coming up through the floor and up through the walls, so anything that you paint on will be only temporary as it will peel/flake off later on. unless you are going to install a dpc ie inject one yourself then i would only paint it internally as this may let the blockwork breathe and not trap any of the damp in the wall, the rubberised cellar paints are good but like anything they are dependant on how damp the wall is.
Hope this helps

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments..

Right I see. Thought this might be the case. It's going to look a mess unless I do the job properly.
As luck would have it the guy that did the DPC from a large company gave me his number totuing for foreigners. Might give him a call and see if he fancies doing it for £30. It'd not even take him an hour.
Cheers for the info LEE.
