Stripping disaster!
Had to strip a room this afternoon and to cut to the chase is the worse strip I have ever done, the wallpaper on three walls came off no worries, the other wall the paper also came off ok but also took 75% of the top coat of plaster with it! So now one wall will need a skim, no great dramas but here is the biggest rub - its my poxy flat, how bloody insulting is that! Bad enough having to decorate it in the first place, but now its opened up a right can of worms

Hoist by ones own Petard
What a bummer, we once had woodchip with 3 layers of paint AND one blinkin' coat was gloss, took ages:cussing:
Youngest daughter 8 at the time said "why not use a blowtorch"
Wish I had set fire to it then claimed on insurance

In my 18th century cottage some rooms had sixteen layers of wallpaper, for the simple reason that the lime plaster was so crumbly that removal was impossible so was repapered instead. All my walls are now painted or tiled, I don't do wallpaper.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.
