depending on the extent of the rust and the vehicle, could be quicker, easier and cheaper to get doors from a scrapper and maybe even wings?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Best way is to get another car.... Once its started in one of two places, next thing you know your seat will be through the floor

its about a inch high and like i sadi it only on the suface, in was thinking about putting some owetrol oil on it, but id rather fix right rather than patching it up

I have exactly the same problem, been meaning to sort it out. I got as far as getting the stuff together - loctite rust treatment, some filler, sandpaper spray paint matched to the colour.

Plan is to grind away all sign of rust, give it some rust treatment as well for good measure, then fill and sandpaper etc. Fine emery paper then a plastic scouring pad to finish off before painting. I got some good advice about masking down some newspaper then curling it back so you get a feathered edge with the spray paint not a harsh line.

Although I haven't used it yet, I just got a rust converter kit from Eastwood, which is supposedly excellent. Aside from scraping loose rust flakes away, no other prep needed. The converter is a two part mix that converts rust to an inert black oxide before your eyes, which can then be encapsulated, primed and painted. Am using this on bits of rust on my chassis. Far easier than getting a new car....
