hi i want to replace my worktops whilst keeping the existing tiling. I have a u shaped kitchen.
i am ok with fitting the new one, ive done that before but could do with some tips on how to remove the old one whilst minimising the risk of breaking the existing tiles
any tips would be appreciated

The worktop will be fastened from underneath, so remove all screws.
Where the worktop is jointed ther should be some clamping bolts, which clamp the worktops together, these are normally rebated into the worktop, these will also need removing.
Once you have done that you should be able to slide the worktop out from under the tiles, but if the tiler did not leave a gap then it may be difficult to remove and so be careful. You may have to lift the front edge of the worktop upwards to release it, so take your time and keep an eye on the tiles.

be worthwhile running a sharp blade along under the bottom edge of the tiles where they butt onto the worktop to free any connection between the two - in case the silicon joint between tile and worktop is stronger then bond between tile and wall
