best place to purchase pre-painted skirting board?
I need to fit skirting board to two rooms in my house which have been plastered. It needs to be tall skirting due to new central heating pipes that I want to cover with skirting board. To avoid the pain in the neck job of glossing the skirting afterwards I am tempted to try to fit some sort of pre-decorated skirting board but not sure how it would work out. Has anyone fitted skirting board like this and where did you get it from? Does it look good or still need glossing anyway?

I am in the process of fitting new skirting in my hallway and to try to get around this problem, I cut it all to size and prepped and painted it first, so it will be a matter of just fitting it and just touching up any joints between Skirting and Architrave.
That's what I did anyway

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I used in many years ago in another house, still had to gloss it after fitting. Got it from one of these kitchen door warehouses that used to spring up on industrial estates then disappear a few weeks later.chippymike wrote:ive only seen pre primed mdf ones
Currently doing the lounge in the house I have now and gone back to pine, pre-cut, undercoat, fit and gloss.

last two lots of skirting I bought were both primed MDF
1st set was great and just needed a wipe and a paint
2nd set had to be rubbed down fully as I think they didn't bother doing any cleaning before the sprayed the primer on
moral of storey ... Be picky!
