fixing stud ceiling to granite wall

Hi Guys, i am lowering my kitchen ceiling, i need to fix battons( 2 x2 )to a granite wall, what is the best and easy way to do this please

are you talking rough granite blocks in a wall or a very smooth finnished feature wall !!!
we are all ------------------still learning

I've a set of these:

Used them to fit some shiny stainless steel handrails outside some newly built offices. I had a big crew of people watch me drill though granite slabs, all waiting for me to split one... I didn't... Smug as buggeree!!!

Stick your batten on the wall. Hold onto it with one hand. Then drill, with the other hand, through the batten and into the wall until you've gone deep enough for you fixing!

Id use frame fixings like these:

Stick the batten up with a bit of gripfil and hammer the frame fixing with (the screw) in through the hole in the batten, and into the hole you just drilled. Hit it until the plug disappears and use a (electric) screwdriver to wind the rest in tight!

Job done!

thanks guys, its a rough granite wall, I live in Aberdeen, its all granite up here!
