and now the only problem i have is my airing cupboard door is so much smaller and i am unable to find the same design in the size i need (approx 21in wide approx 55in Tall) so now my question is does anyone know of a place I can get doors made to size as i want to keep the same style all through the house
If you buy a 1'9" door you have your width. You can remake the door to size easy enough. The problem to overcome is the door height as these come in 80" lengths and cutting down would mean that you would lose the top two panels. However with careful measurement you can make the door look in balance with four panels.
Cut the top and bottom off the door to find the length you want. You will see the edge pieces are only 25mm thick on the offcuts. You can use a chisel to clean off the waste outer skins and reuse the top and bottom rails by gluing them into the slots left in the re sized door.
Fairly easy to do but take your time and watch for the altered height of the lock area.
thanks for that (tryanything) and your right not the easiest thing to explain, also looks like a really tricky job, but i have a door in the garage that has a slight split in it so will try it on that door first. Fingers crossed
