Logging in to UHM

Post by Bludall »

Over the last few weeks Ive tried logging on to UHM and on the odd occasion I've managed it but most of the time I have only been a UHM voyeur.

It's really annoying when my name appears but I can only look. I keep logging on but it asks for my details again and again!! I've lost count of the number of times that I've had to ask for a new password.

I've tried logging in using BT Yahoo, Explorer and Firefox. On the occasion I've got on but it has now stopped. My oh has just managed to get on using the laptop, maybe it just likes him because it refused for me.

I've Googled the problem and have done everything suggested to alter settings on the "Tools Internet options" and stopped the firewall for a few minutes and even done a system restore.

What is wrong with my pc? Is there something else that I'm missing? I'm sure it's obvious to the IT Bods but I'm not one sadly!

Hi Foggy,

I've been busy at school, so I've not been on much anyway. It's good to while away an hour on UHM, not being able to post is a real pain though.

I'll look at your link tomorrow, thanks.:thumbright:

Hey

I can't log in now either :cb

As everyone said "use Firefox, it is far better" - I thought I would give it ago.

when I first tried it this morning it was ok, but now I cannot log on with firefox - put in credentials and hit "login" and it doesn't - just takes me to the forum but not logged on.
If I put in a made up name, it takes me back to the login page.

If I go back to IE and login, it logs me on :thumbright: (guess what I am using typing this  )

I'd like to use Firefox as it looks quite funky - and I can use it with other sites ok.

Any ideas what the problem is?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'm using 3.0.3 - downloaded and installed today.

Cleared uhm cookie from system.

Also Firefox stops the yahoo avatar from being edited when it is the default browser - make IE the default browser again and yahoo avatart editor is fine.

So far, Firefox 0-2 Internet Explorer

nah - direct from an address bar (well, via a favourite anyway)

As I can log on ok in IE, it can't be my credentials are wrong, so I have no doubt someone else using Firefox on another system can log on with ID if they can logon with theirs.

I use another phpBB forum which logs me on ok in Firefox. I just expected more from Firefox generally as everyone says IE is crap and FF is so much better :?
