Thought I'd update in case anyone else is thinking of buying one of these.
I found a place that's based in Essex and their site had the KB version with the 2.6 Ni-Mh's £304.33 and that was including VAT. Definitely the cheapest I'd seen and I'd been looking for ages.
In fact, as it was a good bit cheaper than anywhere else, I'm now worried there's something wrong with it. The checkout process also only charged me £4 postage so I'm half expecting a phone call about that sometime soon.

Go for the 2.6 NiMH these seem to be Dewalts most popular battery and you can pick up real bargains on E-bay if you have to replace them which is unlikely, i had a problem with my battery drill and it took 3.0ah nimh and these batteries are notoriously expensive so i swapped them for 2.6's which i got off of e-bay for about 30 quid a piece
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments..
