new gas torch advice please

Post by wookie »

hi all,

I'm looking to replace my old torch and looking for a quick fire one and running off a bottle of propane, i was wondering what there is out there ie a bernomatic ts7000, would this be suitable or would i need to get a fitting kit to fit the hose/and to the regulator etc?.

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Rothenburger do an adapter for the surefire torches, so you can use it on an hose.

Damn expensive for a piece of brass though, About £10 when I got mine about 12 year ago.

many thanks scruff, do you know if bernomatic do an adaptor for the ts7000 torch?, is the rothenberger torch a better one the surefire ones?.

Cheers

Don't know Wookie, the rotty has always been the No1 in the trade, but check with your local merchant for supplies.

No good getting a torch and finding the bottles ain't local, ok, Calor is not a problem if you get the adapter.

Both torches are identical except the TS7000 has a red control button & a cheaper price tag!

Any adaptor that fits one will fit the other so no problems there.

The TS7000 is £39.98 at B&Q.

many thanks....that's one I've now brought a Rothernberger surefire 2 from a bloke off Fleabay, brand new and £35 inc postage....result....very cheap as well, Plumbcentre wanted sixty odd quid plus the vat....

I've also brought the cylinder adaptor for the torch also off the fleabay for £10.25 as opposed to £23.00 plus vat from plumbcentre.

Thanks for everyone's advice, much appreicated...
