54aaaardvark...

I think the sat nav is a lot a safer than a map... I;ve been finding peoples houses for the last 20yrs, and certainly know which i'd rather be using!

Of course a degree of common sense is needed when using a satnav.

I've used a garmin & a tomtom, and the tomtom out classes it by a mile! (pun)

He's Welsh, Angie. You have to make allowances...

By the way, "hooker" as in "2-bit hooker" is American; "tart" as in tupp'ny ha'penny tart" is English. Dunno what the Welsh is. Summat to do with sheep perhaps.

I'm with Hinton on this one.

After years of using a map, bits of paper and dead reckoning I finally gave in ang got a TomTom 530 a few days ago.

Utterly brilliant and so much safer than trying to refer to a map on the seat beside you.

Again common sense is needed so don't d*ck about with it whilst driving..!
Nothing you do is a waste of time - especially if it can be used as a bad example by others...

I bought the basic Navman satnav about three years ago and it's the bee's knees as far as I'm concerned!...Although when Ms Gadget and myself were heading along a M/way near Edinburgh, it did tell me to turn right in 1000 feet when there was no turn off for about 5 miles!...

Hooker = bachwr, but not for prostitute and harlot, = putain, which does of course mutate depending on the preceding word.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

Mooncat,

Putain is similar to the Italian Puttana, I make the puttanesca sauce as it's our favourite on pasta.

Putain is French for whore. There was a famous french film "La Maman et la putain" — the mother and the whore.
