I bought some stone online this evening. The price I paid including VAT & delivery was just short of £1500. The difference in price from Fridays quote should have been a whopping £32.50. The suppliers have changed the price per crate and the price of delivery. That meant that the actual difference in final cost to me between Friday's pre-VAT-slashing and today was a wallet bursting £4.10.
And I'll be sure that this is passed onto my client so that they can join in this boosting of the economy.
I don't know if I can stand the excitement of these next 12 months. People are going to go nuts just spending and spending to take advantage of the huge savings to be had.
Sarcasm may be the lowest form of wit but it doesn't half take it out of you. I'm off to bed to dream of the things I can spend £4.10 on.

Shopped a day to earlyRich-Ando wrote:went to Costco on Sunday and realised when we got home they charged us 17.5% VAT
I bought some stuff in John Lewis in Oxford Street on Saturday and they knocked off 2.5% from the price at the tills
(Yes, Stoday, 2.5% off the total price, NOT just 2.5% off the VAT portion )
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
