It would be impossible to grit ever road/pavement before someone tried them out, unless they have a curfew saying this road is closed till the gritters have been along it.

I wish they would close the road that leads into my work :thumbright:
Then again the council would tell me to take it as Annual Leave or unpaid leave.
It may seem difficult at first! But everything is difficult at first.

The topic is my main gripe about taxing 4 x 4 for rural use. Where I live on the top of a hill, they're essential for safe driving.

Were there an option when it comes to councils... I would close all the buggers down and fire all the staff and close down the flash offices.

Everyone can take their own rubbish down the the tip, they will be charged a nominal amount to enter the site each time.

Each street light wold have a coin operated meter at the base.

The Gestapo, sorry the police, have to earn their income just like the rest of us. If they decide this is speed fine based then that is OK as it is anyway.

Schools all of them are privatised - we have PAYE so why not PAYL (Pay As You Learn).

Put down ya own salt on the ice and dont be so mamby-pamby.

Would the average Brit be better off? Yes by MILES. Don't forget that 'lady' that 'managed' the child protection section of Haringey Council was earning some £100K a year - and she was one of the cheaper ones :wtf:

Rant may be over....

Nah - don't need a 4x4 to gone down the hill  - unless you want to be able to get back up again
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

its not a tax on either in reality.... its a tax for the priviledge of keeping a car; now called car tax (instead of road tax). i bet soon they will get rid of SORN and simply state that if you have a car, regardless of where you keep it, you must pay the car tax.

in a few years when we sort of forget they will add a green tax to fuel to cover inefficient engines or heavy cars.
