How to create a lift-up and sliding-door?

Post by DEfusion »

I want to create something that has a door that works in a similar manner to this:

As you can hopefully see from the pictures the front/door can be lifted up and slides into the top of the cabinet. I wondered if there are any specific hinges/runners that do this job - any links to UK suppliers would be ideal.

Thanks in advance for your help.

That's exactly what I was looking for - pivot sliding door runners.

Thanks a lot.

This site looks like it is for trade only, I've sent an email enquiry about placing an order. I've looked elsewhere but can't find the same thing anywhere else I don't suppose you know of anywhere else (the only alternatives I can find are for doors and would not work for flaps like this one).

EDIT: Forget that, found them here: http://www.bkservicesonline.co.uk/shop/ ... ts_id=8472

If you contact Hafele and just ask them for a stockist in your area

The stockist may have to order it in but Hafele are pretty good, normally 2 days

Most stockist wont stock everything as there range of products are so vast

Some of the hafele stuff comes in from germany too so you may get a long wait on certain stuff.I tried to order a lock from them and it was an 8 week wait, made a key and serviced the existing lock in the end.

Here's another type that may be better suited for your intended application
