Ryobi 10" Sliding Mitre Saw (model EMS2026SCL) any good

Need help - to many options. Trying to find my first mitre saw that will cut up to about 270-280mm. I've seen the Dewalt 707 - seems good, but I really could do with saving a few pounds as i've just bought my first home - needs loads of work...aarrgh!

Seen many and got a few opinions. Don't want to buy a Chinese cheapy becouse I want some consistency and accuracy - will I get this from the Ryobi model - which is about 100 notes less than dewalt, cuts up to 305mm.......and comes with a laser - ooooohhhhhh!

Ryobi are a decant make of tools for diy use.

Dewalt are more for professional use. The laser is a bit of a gimmick, but I am sure it will be up to the job!

How much can you get the ryobi one for, then we can see if we can find anything better or a better price?

i love ryobi stuff the quality is excelent

when i went for my new slider it was a toss up between the dewalt 712 makita 1013 [or may have been the 1014]
the bosch or the ryobi

i only ruled out the ryobi because of my personal rating for ryobi stuff in general is light to medium trade and my expected use use was heavy trade i chose the dewalt becauseof the rave reveiws and havent looked back

i have loads of ryobi stuff as my back up gear and i am very impressed with it at around half the price for around 80% of the quality you cant go wrong

you will hear people with problems with dewalt bosch makita ect but how often do you hear reports back about ryobi

I am also after the 6 pc, 18V Ryobi set as well - retails from same ebay shop for £259.95 (drill, jigsaw, circular/skills saw - these are the basic tools I really need - corner sander, angle drill, wet and dry vac - these are bonus tools as far as I am concerned for a little extra cash). I am sold on this set in terms of value for money and I have seen the build quaitiy of all the tools in the sheds (B&Q etc..) and heard great reviews for Ryobi hand tools in general.

I just have not seen the mitre saw in the flesh so can't check out quality of the fence, stops, how sturdy it is etc.. toolsave will do me a deal on delivery if i by both from same place - i havent seen either Ryobi 6 pc set or 10" mitre saw cheaper any where else.

These are both out of my budget and probably overkill for what I need. But I have seen the Bosch GCM 10S Mitre Saw -

But if I can get the Ryobi 10" for around £100 pound less it sounds attractive as really need to stretch budget out. It will be for medium use around the home - but have a rebuild of garage project in the spring. I do want decent accuracy and will pay a little more for it if I hear the Ryobi doesnt give this???
