Shower tray alignment problem......

Post by dukes4monny »

Hi all, just fitting a shower tray, and I have found that the walls I'm going against aren't square. At one end I have a gap of around 10mm but the wall is straight i.e. it isn't a 'hollow' at problem end.

I am not a tiler, so I was wondering, do you think that with that kind of a gap I can 'lose' the gap with the tiling and not worry about it? Or, should I knock some plaster away so that the tray fits into the wall at that other end, or call a plasterer in and skim out the problem........or maybe there's another option?

I need to bed down the tray before any tiling is done so I'm kinda stuck at the moment.

Thanks for any advice.

well it depends how thick your tiles are

but I would suggest you knock some plaster off and let the tray in at one end

thanks, plaster off it is then. We haven't chosen the tiles yet (tomorrow's job), so don't know thickness yet.

Thanks for your quick reply :thumbright:
