hey all, what base should i do for my. i'm building the shed myself with the help of my joiner mate. should i lay a concrete base or slabs the buid a timber floor on that, and what about air circulation round the base.

my shed has a 18mm ply roof and floor 3x2" at 2ft centres treated underfloor supported by
18" slabs on compact sand 'brick on top every 2ft topped with felt
even with the temperature dropping to around zero for several days on end there is no damp or rust and i only warm up to around 10 degrees on the days i work

The last shed i built was concrete base
4x2 treated joists placed at 400mm centres
22mm t&g whitewood flooring treated with cuprinol (overkill i know but there was some pretty heavy stuff going inside it)
4x2 joists layed 90degrees to 4x1 treated bearers wrapped top and bottom with dpc hard onto concrete.
a good soak of 4x1 bearers and joist ends every other year with cuprinol just for added measure.
The floor and my walls and roof were all insulated with kingspan insulation then plywood walls and ceiling and on top of that 2 coats of emulsion paint to seal timber sheets.
A lot of time and money was spent on this one but with no heater and 2 years later no condensation on and bare metal items stored unprotected in shed was evident.
soif you are intending storing anything that is a considerable weight then keep your joists around 400centres and if you have the cash to splash then go with a t&g floor even if its 19mm.
there is nothing wrong with plywood for a floor though.
