Cutting squares in the centre of existing tiles

Post by philip1301 »

Hi,
I'm thinking of revamping our existing bathroom but I'm on a bit of a budget. One thought was to cut a square out in the centre of several of the existing wall mounted tiles within the shower cubicle and insert a small border tile for added effect. The only problem is I'm not sure which would be the best tool to perform this job. I did think about buying a Dremel which I thought would might be lightweight and small enough but, again, I'm not sure this would do the job. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks!!
Philip.

heeelllooo and welcome philip :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

i would forget it
you would require several tools and about 20 to 30 mins per tile
getting a square corner is the hard part as the dremil will not cut out corners easily

your onto a 90pecent chance of a broken tile a 90 percent chance the opening arnt all square and a very good chance off chips

you can buy tile stickers for this very purpose

these ones are water slide so will need fixing and may not be sutable for showers
