Lightscribe

Post by Noid »

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Not having problems, just wondering what people think to it in general, just burning my first one now.

Think it would be nice to give people a package with one of their images on the disc after I've done a shoot for them.

It took 17 mins to scribe the disc i just did and it came out quite well. Just uploading the pics now and will show ya how it looks.

Got 10 cd's today for £7.99 so not cheap but they do have individual cases and i have paid more for discs in the past.

hmm not impressed to be honest and 7.99 for 10 discs is bloody expensive
and 17 mins is sloooooow

prefer printing cds ,can also do what people call white labels ,custom designed to save on ink

I've used Lightscribe DVDs and thought them quite good. used to use printed labels that stick on, but they tend to bubble after a while with heat.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I want something that looks pro and lasts a while.
I'm sure with the right image and a bit of messing about they will look quite good and last a damn sight longer that a label.

The pic doesn't really do it justice, was just a quick snap.

printed discs look pro ,your right re sticky labels though used them ages ago and look crap

one thing i have heard about lightscribe is they fade if not protected from daylight, humidity and heat
main thing is if your happy with them then thats all that matters ,but would suggest looking at a printer with cd printing ,lot cheaper and look a lot better

Yeah, I'm looking into printable CD's but that means a new printer and yet more discs.
I already had the lightscribe in my pc so thought it the cheapest route for now.

I use a Stencil too so I'm nearly as advanced as labeling
