Changing flourescent tube to normal ceiling rose light?

Post by bodgeitandscarper »

Am I right in the thinking there is nothing complicated about this? Just the put the earth live and nuetral in there corresponding place. Only concern is the earth wire, which was connected to the metal casing of the flourscent tube, and where the earth wire will go the ceiling rose.

the plastic ceiling roses have an earth terminal in them to connect it to. Are you sure its only got one live neutral and earth , and not a connector block stuffed into the ceiling void. Just check before you connect the ceiling rose up as its not good practice to leave this in the ceiling.

then it is just a case of connecting live to the brown of the fitting and black to the blue of the fitting

If it isnt broke dont bloody touch it until it bloody well is and if it is broke then make drawing of the connections before you remove the broken one and replace with a new one LoL
