Which Joint to use when tanking aquapanel

Post by DIY_Johnny »

Hi all,

What do you think about the tape to use when tanking aquapanel. The Tanking kit BAL suggests that you use their tape but the aquapanel brochure states that you should be using the Bal Tape beore applying the WP1 coating

Just use the aquapanel tape.......then tile.

No need to tank it as well :thumbright:

I thought I would be bashed for not going for the full-on belt and braces approach on this forum.

I have bought a wad of Aquapanel for the shower area and the rest of the room is going to be moisture resistance plaster board. At least I hope it is, I just got that "Moistureshield" stuff from Wickes.

Actually I rang Knauff and Bal and the problem is that each won't discuss the others product, frustrating. Suppose they don't want to give any guarantees but it doesn't help their sales by not being all that helpful.
