Hi peeps!
I've just finished building a brick planter which attaches directly onto the brick wall of the house. Like this:

|__________|
My question is how do I waterproof the bricks of the house? The planter itself isn't so much of an issue as I expect it to get wet in all weather and its built with drainage holes anyway, but I'm worried that the constant damp of the soil in contact with the house will cause problems.
Is there something I can apply to the house wall (only the bit in constant contact with soil) that will totally waterproof it? I have several large B&Q's, Wickes, and Homebases near me... so a link to a particular product would be much appreciated!!!!

Something like this will also be OK, I bought a similar product from B&Q about 6 months ago.
