I have just had bathroom done in large (666X333) porcelaine tiles. They are a matt finish in a mottled beige effect. Usually, with ceramics, the grout is easy to wash off but I just cannot get rid of it off these tiles. I have cleaned each wall about 20 times and although it is improving, the walls are still drying up white - like a fine chalk.
Any clever solutions please? It's doing my head in!

Available from any tile shop. HG is great stuff, but other makes will do the job.

Sounds like the porcelain was non vitrious / non vitrified and required a sealer prior to grouting,
i would clean off the grout very carefuylly with a grout remover, and use on a test area first,
then seal with a porc selaer, use the same manufacturer for both, like Lithofin cement away and Lithofin FZ sealer

Porcelain by nature is not porous, however if they are polished, the polishing priocess requires that sealer be used. Also through bodied porcelain would also benefit from a coat of an appropriate sealerJohnnymac wrote:Thanks
I have bought a Grout Cleaner which seems to have worked. However, I will contact the manufacturers and see if they will advise on the porosity of the tile.
thanks for help
