PULLCORD SWITCH - LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN OFF

Post by diymark »

Hi Everyone,

Have fitted a new pullcord switch for shower at home.

Everything is fine except when I pull switch to off, light on switch stays on!

I think it's a wiring problem - have I got my black neutral wires wrong way round?

All advice very welcome

Thanking eveyone in advance

regards,

Mark.

Best to remove the pull cord switch & start again….

The terminals inside the switch should be marked…. “Supply” & “Load”
The wires from the shower go into the Load terminals.
The wires that feed the power to the switch go into the Supply terminals.

Always switch off at the fuse box before you start any electrical work.
