Bathroom Tiling

Hi Folks

I appreciate that strictly speaking this may not be a 100% tiling related question (since im trying to avoid tiling) but i am looking at replacing my current bathroom suite, and im wondering if i can do this without having to replace the tiling. This is my first bathroom diy project so needless to say im slightly nervous about ripping bits out. As far as i can tell there is flexible white sealant between the bottom row of tiles and the bath (im hoping i can cut this away and replace it after the new bath is fitted). I think the same sealant is used around the outside of the sink. Just wondering if anyone can confirm if it is as simple as cutting away the old stuff and pulling the old bath and sink away from the wall or possibly not? Thanks a lot in advance.

Lower the bath slightly on the legs and it should come out ok, once you have cut the silicon and undone the brackets holding it to the wall.

The chance is a tile or two will fall off as well, depending how well they are stuck

as the 'L' shape brackets that attatch the bath to the wall are higher than the bath and underneath a couple of tiles, and silicone is mainly used prior to tiling to also secure the bath, the chances are slim of not damaging the tiles around it, also removing a bath in situ is not easy, as the length of the bath increases as you attempt to lift it up diagonally, the tiles will hinder this, good luck
