Distance between downlights

Hello all

Can someone advise me as to the distance between each downlight and distance from the wall?

Based on the Bog standard of the shelf ones with 50w Halogen bulbs

Re-wiring lounge, but not sure how many i need as i dont want to put toofew in and leave shadows on walls

The instructions that come with the lights will say the minimum distance away from the wall.

I was reading this yesterday, I think it is a newish page on here-

spacing is normally about 6 or 7 feet apart. Generally they are kept about 3 feet from a wall.
