PGM,
Is the folder there but empty?

Try this:

Pictures included to make it easier.

Ive found them now in my original email. But my inbox is empty.
Can i get rid of outlook altogether ie can I reverse the action and go back to how I retrieved my email before ?

Just don't use Outlook if you don't like it.
I installed Office from a 'iffy' disk and unticked the Outlook part of the install, so I do not have it installed.
I just used OE and Gmail for ages, then tried Thunderbird and find it very good for what I want.
What did you use to receive your email before, Outlook Express?

Forget Outlook and:
a) Try Thunderbird FREE from:
http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
You can transfer all your previouys folders to it along with your address book etc.
and
b) set up a Googlemail account for free from
http://tinyurl.com/n73v2k
Dead handy for general use and keep your Thunderbird account for personal stuff.

If the folders on your web mail are empty then the contents will have been deleted and as they are stored on the web, there is no chance of getting them back.
It is always advisable to save all emails in a folder in My Documents, even if it means doing a copy and paste to a Word Doc and then saving that.
