Hard drives

If I take the hard drive out of a not working computer, and stick it in one that is, what would happen.

Both are on 98se.

Is there something on it that you want, or is it just to increase storage?

Seems a lot of trouble for an old OS like 98SE.

I love 98se

Lots of reasons for wanting to keep it working.

I have an agfa photo scanner which you get drives for.

I have several programs which will only work on 98se, including a disc with thousands of old boilers.

The plan was I have two HDs in an old computer, and I was going to take them both out and fit the single HD from the defunct one.

I misunderstood your first post.

It would not work like that, because the MB would not recognise the OS on the newer HD.
What you could do is to leave the master HD in the working computer so that you will have 98SE still on it and install the HD from the defunct PC as a slave drive.

Yes, I could take take the existing slave out and replace with the HD from the other computer.

repair install is the other trick (never usually works though sadly)
