Wirelss works in lounge but not bedroom?

Post by Handy Angie »

Have just set up a wireless solution at my mums house, everyone can connect in the lounge no problem. But when she takes her Fujitsu laptop into the bedroom the wireless dies. Yet my son can take his Acer in the bedroom and his works fine. The router is a Netger DG834G. Any ides as my man who is a computer wizz doesnt "do" wireless!!!

could simply be due to the different wireless chipset in each laptop or different design of aerial.
main thing is to check the signal strength both laptops are receiving in the bedroom and downstairs
also make sure they are both connecting to the same wireless network.

Agree. Each laptop will perform differently. You could try a USB Wifi plug in to see if you can get a better pick up. Or a PCMIA wifi Card depending if you have a slot.
