.I cannot have carpet (dogs plus dust allergies
), I removed the carpet from upstairs hallway (eight years ago ) to discover UGLY floorboards beneath. I have lovely wooden floor in the rest of the house and feel like something different in this hallway. It's only a small area and I thought tiles would be nice 
.I have NO IDEA where to start but am handy when I know what I'm doing.
I need advice from start to finish in VERY simple language
