help for the new guy

Post by ajdublin »

hi guys,

i need some guidance... i have a semi solid wood floor in kitchen and will soon be having part of it tiled....so i need to cut away part of the floor in a curved shape....my two questions are 1 what is the best way or tool to cut the floor with........ and 2 is there a flexible trim i can use
where the new tiles will meet the old floor ( same height ) or if not , what if any options are there......

thanks in advance for any help :dunno: :help:

So the old floor will be left finished with just floorboards on?

If the tiles are higher than the rest of the floor then you may have problems

no, the tiles will finish the same height as existing floor.

the curve would be a gentle sweep about 6 feet long and about 18 inches

deep if that makes sense. i was thinking there may be a flexible t-shape trim or something similar??????
