how do i put a video ive been sent on to my desktop?

Depends if it's through Outlook, Outlook Express or webmail, but something along the lines of right-clicking on the attachment and selecting "Save target as" and choosing the desktop as the download location.

Should be able to just drag it to your desktop

When you open the email you should see the attachment name and a paperclip icon.

Click the name and choose the option "Save Target As"

You will get a dialogue box opening giving you the option to Browse where to save it.
