Tiling an outside room floor on battered concrete base.

Post by tequila »

Hi people. I have to tile...what is essentially a shed with three sides... so it's open to the elements. It has a concrete base, but it needs something over the top to smooth it out a little, as it has large cracks pits etc. I was going to just put half inch or so of cement over it, is this ok?
Then I will tile a week or so later....what's the best tile cement/grout for outside floor tiles please.
Thanks
Martin

I would use a quarry tile or similar, and a thick bed (10mm ish) of cement based floor tile adhesive.

If it's powdery you could use a latex floor leveling compound.
