Multi phones on 1 phone switch

Post by clarkeyleeds80 »

Hi,

We currently have 1 phone socket but would like to have two phones.

Instead of creating a second socket, do the new cordless phones have the ability to just plug the base phone into the phone socket and have a second "sattelite" phone that is linked to the base but doesn't need to have a seperate socket??

I was looking at these: http://www.cordless-phones.uk.com/cordl ... ct-reviews

Hope this is clear!!

you have a base station that plugs in the mains and the phone socket the base station will usualy accept any handset as they are normaly identical

the handsets only need to be docked for charging you would only need to plug in the second charger after a few years when the batteries wont hold there charge just rotate the handsets daily and leave the other handset lying on the worktop or wherever no need to charge it

usual where they plug into phone socket they will have a 2way adapter or a piggy back socket so you can plug in an extention or other item into the socket
we are all ------------------still learning

Excellent - thanks very much - won't need to have the hassle of adding another phone socket!

look for GAP compatible phones, means any phone should work with any base.
In theory, though my pair of identical philips cordless phones keep losing their pairing ::b

im more betting on either faulty wifi nearby, illegal CCTV (more common than realised) or a flaky microwave (I live in the slums so most likely)

that and the handsets i have are buggy as heck, others ive used have been fine.

I found the problem with mine....swapped the batteries back to Ni-Cads and no issues, seems the base can't charge Ni-Mh rechargeables and thats why they kept going out of sync...almost flat handsets
