Travertine tiles in shower area?

Post by 59peejay »

Me and the mrs went looking at tiles yesterday and first call was Topps we saw the travertine tiles and they looked so much better than ceramic or porcelain they are about 30x45 10mm in size are they suitable for the shower area floor how easy are they to cut into a shower tray or is it best using mosaic trav. in the tray area, what special needs do they have in such a wet environment?.Thanks.

Travertine tiles are a natural pourus stone and will need sealing before letting water on to them, the sealer will also need renewing every couple of years.
