Grouting border tiles ?

Post by broadbandit »

I have a set of border tiles to fit into the middle of a completey tiled wall.
Would i use spacers between the border tile and other tiles or just set them on top without spacers or grout.
I cant decide what would look best the border tiles are only about 1" wide what would you guys do what is the norm ?.
Cheers

So your saying the wall is fully tilled and now you want to fit border tiles ???

You fit border tiles when your doing the original tilling and use the same spacers you used for the tiles to maintain and even gap. They dont sit on top of existing tiles that would just look silly and ugly

I wonder if it's because a lot of border tiles are a different width to the others, so bonding in not essential.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

use the spacers.
is it a mosiac border ur putting in? if so check to see if its the same thickness of ur field tiles if not u will have to pack it out..using off cuts of thinner tiles.

Nice one from your original post got the impression the wall was already tiled

Hope you spaced the tiles across the wall with even amounts at the sides and also started from a level batten at the bottom
