Virgin Media

Post by deck »

How many of you guys use virgin media. Been with them for years charging me £36 pounds for 10mbs broadband and phone line, however looking at their website there are great deals for new custumers but none for old.
However after a few moans to their call centre and a few supervisors later
.
I now pay £31 for 20mbs broadband and phone line' as a so called loyalty bonus

How many like me never look at what we pay for these services

I have just changed from Orange to Plusnet who I was with 18 months ago.

I left them because new customers were getting offered a better deal than regulars and they wouldn't budge when I asked.
Went to Orange Home Max which was free calls inc International and, with line and BB charges was £24 per month and very pleased with it. Wife spent about an hour a week calling Canada and I had no limit on BB usage.
They wrote in August that my contract was being changed and all Max customers were to be charged £32 from one month on. 33% increase was not a good idea, so I shopped around.

Plusnet had a good offer on and as a returning customer I got a cracking deal and very good three month start rates.

Like you say it is best to either talk to you ISP about offers with the proviso that if they don't come up with any, you will change to another.

Same as me scruff.' If you have a BT line there are more options' however I think most ISP have a plan B for customers about to walk.

Virgin don't know you don't have the option of a BT line.

I only have a cable line but I phoned Virgin and asked how much notice I need to give to move away.

They asked why and I said I'd been contacted by Sky (I'd had a leaflet) and offered up to 16MB, TV packages, free calls etc. The Virgin guy bent over backwards to beat the deal.

I now have double the broadband speed, more TV channels and pay £30 per month less than I was before.

No harm in trying.

So I quoted him Decks package above.
