Lighting Circuit

Can anyone tell me if it is still acceptable to use Juction Box wiring method instead of Loop-In method on rewiring older houses. Thanks

It is still possible to wire this way , but unless there is a specific reason for using JB'S, I.E> old conduit buried in wall and dont want to chase wall out to accomodate more cables, I would not do it this way . Why not just 3 plate it, its no harder than a JB system

If it isnt broke dont bloody touch it until it bloody well is and if it is broke then make drawing of the connections before you remove the broken one and replace with a new one LoL

The only real reason for doing the JB method is because i have many lights to do and my neck would hurt after a while due to looking up at the ceiling rose when connecting 1.5mm T+E. Not being an electrician, please explain what a 3 plate is :?

sorry, if you look at the electrical section on the main ultimatehandyman site it will explain. Basically you run your feed cable in and out of the lights and then the switch cable to the same point , all connections are then made at the ceiling rose. No JB required, and all connections are easily accessible.
