Tile Backer board and access panel

New to tiling and am using hardibackerboard for side panel to bath which I will tile. Can I just screw board to frame around bath and then tile? I am going to fit an access panel which after having read other suggestions I am thinking of using velcro to fasten in place, it says not to staple, can the velcro be stuck to the backerboard and was there some mention of bonding - what needs bonding? yes just screw the 12mm b/boards to frame.
as for sealing depends on what type of tile u will be fixing....a large tile using powdered addy seal with sbr or apd primer..anything over 300x300mm
if just a smaller tile use tubbed addy no need for sealing.
