unibond sandstone grout

Post by arya »

Anyone used this? I put this down mid week last week - now in heavy traffic areas the sandstone colour has gone really dirty brown! Anyone else had this problem?

any grout will get dirty, with some getting dirty quicker than others.

It wasn't the pre-mixed stuff. It's really bizarre - the tiles run through the kitchen to the bathroom - the bathroom is a really nice sandstone colour grout but part of the kitchen's gone brown. In less than a week!!

Do I rip up the grout and start again? Can you recommend other sandstone colour grouts?

Well...

I looked around the site and saw that domestos grot buster - I couldn't find that in the shops but got Cillit Bang's version. The grout has cleaned up pretty nicely and I can live with the variance of colour now - just seriously annoying that the unibond grout was so susceptible to dirt so quickly.

My advice - stay away from this grout unless you like the dirty grotty look after 6 days of application...!
