best way to check if floor is level and high low spots

hi, just had floor screeded in extension can anyone tell the best way to check for high/low spots and if floor is level enough to tile onto (i know I have to wait 3 weeks before tiling Ref Bal adhesives). I will be laying ceramic tiles and area to tile is 7.5m long 4m wide, just wanted to ask the experts the best way so I am fully prepared for the time when i can start

I cant get pictures to resize on my sons laptop????? have downloaded the microsoft resizer and it keeps saying there is a compatibility issue with XP so i will load them at work in the morning

Hi Bgatty,

Best way to check for highs or lows is either a lazer or a dumpy level.

Any dips can be sorted out with laytex (self levelling compound), the floor looks good to me tho'.

Oh yeah,
And any bad high points can be taken down with a floor scarifier (carbide blocks attached).

the floor went really well the two lads were very professional, talked me thru what they would be doing and cleaned up after all work and well the floor seems level to me but you know what a trained eye can see to joe public so thats why i asked the question really.
simon Thanks for the reply i thought about self levelling compound and only really for the kitchen area as its the biggest part where as the top part of pics ( left is playroom -laminate to be laid) the right side is a small toilet and utility

the scruff once again sorry for the delay in posting pics. Got so much going on at moment and one day when all done will post all pics of this project then hopefully be at one of the UHM meets and tell all the long story about the highs and lows of this extension
