silicon that won't set!

I recently put some new silicon around my shower base and let it set for over 24 hours. I had a shower this morning and discovered that it is still soft and coming away from the wall!

Am I doing something wrong?

what brand of silicone was it?

critically, how think was the bead?

In normal circumstances, 24 hours should be ok, but there is never 'normal' circumstances.

Is it a new shower enclosure?

Were there any other chemicals in the area recently? (If you used a chemical aplication to remove old silicone, this may be a problem for instance).

Was it silicone or was it marked up as bathroom sealant? Not the same thing I'm afraid

If it doesn't smell of vinegar I wouldn't use it

did you use low modulus silicon by any chance? or bathroom sealant, not silicon?
